VS 2008 RTM out? (update: confirmed)

According to the diligent Telerik admins, the VS 2008 RTM bits are live and available for download on the MSDN site. The public MSDN site does not appear to be updated- still saying "arriving this month"- but the bits are being downloaded in the Telerik labs as I type. None of the other "big bloggers" have dropped any word on this yet either, so expect a flood of posts on VS 2008 availability later today or the MSDN download to be pulled. Either way, you heard it hear first, and if you're an MSDN subscriber you should jump over to your downloads and see if you can snag the bits. Drop a line in the comments if you manage to start the download.

UPDATE: The release is confirmed via our good friend ScottGu. Enjoy VS 2008!

MSDN/TechNet has been slow all morning, and I read the post here:
http://blogs.msdn.com/ukvsts/archive/2007/11/19/visual-studio-2008-has-rtm-ed.aspx

But I don't see it available yet. I think it must be a "slooowww" roll out.

I just checked MSDN and it's not posted yet...

Yes, it appears that the RTM bits are being slowly rolled-out. I guess the guys in Bulgaria got lucky early access while the rest of the western world was sleeping.

Either way, the bits are clearly in the process of being released, so expect a formal announcement soon.

In SoCal Team Edition was the only one available for download as of 10:46AM.

Jason-

That's the version Telerik downloaded, so perhaps only VSTS is available today. Thanks for the SoCal update!

hmm...

The MSDN downloads area now has a readme file for VS2008. The description for the readme file says that the VS2008 bits are available for download from the "Top Subscriber Downloads" section of the MSDN homepage.

Sure enough the Standard, Express, and Pro versions of VS2008 are available for download.

Seems to want me to install a different download manager than MSDN normally uses.
