And the final Telerik winner is…

After a couple of weeks of incredible software giveaways here at Telerik, celebrating both the release of Q2 2010 and the official launch of TeamPulse (and even the upcoming beta of Sitefinity 4), it’s been hard not to feel like it’s Christmas in July if you’re a .NET developer. The giveaways have been so popular that we even exceeded the limits of GoToWebinar (which only holds 1,000 people live at a time)! Still, after all of this, we ran one more contest last week asking you to help us spread the message about all of the new products Telerik is delivering to make .NET developers and teams more productive.

The “Tweet and Win” (or “Facebook and Win,” if you preferred) contest gave you the chance last week to talk about some of the various Telerik products for a chance to win one of three Telerik Ultimate Collections (worth $1999 each) or one of the “super popular” Apple iPads.

Twitter Contest winners announced, Thanks for the Q2 tweets

One of the contests we ran during last week's big Q2 2009 Release Week was a fun "Twitter Contest." To play, all you had to do was tweet with the #telerikq209 hashtag between Monday the 6th and Friday the 10th. And boy did you tweet! There were well over 300 tweets last week (excluding Telerik-generated tweets) from 150 unique tweeters with the contest hashtag. The tweets ranged from the simple, "just enough to play": "#telerikq209" (7 people came-up with this creative tweet all on their own) To to the much more original tweets, like this one from @jbrahy: "Here's my entry into the telerik sweepstakes. #telerikq209 and I have to admit, they have great products if you want a cool webapp." Or this one from @iioshius: "How about a non-#dnd post? I just saw the #telerikq209 3D chart - whoa. Just whoa. Can't wait to drop it into our upcoming Silverlight app." In fact, there were many very cool original tweets, and I'll try to compile some of my favorite in to a list later this week. A big thanks to everyone on Twitter for helping Telerik spread the news of the Q2 2009 release. We work hard to make the best tools and components possible for .NET and we are always happy to see such positive feedback on public forums like Twitter. .NET Ninja t-shirt giveaway winners

The contest is over. The entries have been collected. The true .NET Ninjas have shared their stories with us. And while the stories have no actual bearing on the winners, we did get some pretty incredible tales. Everything from someone who actually survived a caffeine-free development day to a true ninja master that never programs with caffeine. Truly inspiring.

To further establish his place a .NET Ninja master, commenter Nick (our caffeine-free developer) also relayed an incredible story that puts him in the running for .NET Ninja of the Year or the Darwin Awards- I haven't decided which yet. In short, while going about his normal, stealthy, .NET Ninja developer duties, assassins from KAOS sabotaged transformers near his building causing them to explode in a massive fireball. But rather than run for safety and rely on his trusty off-site back-ups...eh hem...Nick rushed in to the building right next to the burning fireball to try to save his database servers. Unfortunately, the flames licking at the building were too much even for a great .NET Ninja and the DB servers were lost, but the story is still impressive.

But since the .NET Ninja stories were all good, I have decided that there will be no losers in the giveaway.
